Call for proposals

The Foundation invites proposals from UK and EU institutions for a grant for a research that will significantly improve the quality of life for autistic adults with a severe learning disability and other conditions. Up to £100,000 is available. This may be over one or two years and must include all costs and expenses and dissemination.

The proposal must be innovative and of high scientific quality. The Foundation welcomes proof of concept projects that might attract larger statutory grants in the future. Projects might include, but are not limited to approaches that; reduce stress or anxiety in this population; promote meaningful participation; enhance communication; address behaviours of concern.

Applicants will demonstrate the need for the project in the form of a clear rationale and research question and will involve the meaningful participation of autistic people. Applications will be informed by reference to the PICO framework.

Applications should be received by‪ 10th August 2018. The Foundation is unable to enter into any discussion on the call prior to decision or consider any application that is not on the approved form. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal in October 2018 and may be invited to attend for interview on 31st October. A final decision will be made in November 2018.
